IDRA in cooperation with Oxford University, funded by World Bank, has implemented a major research project on the Public School System in Albania. The research focused on governance and accountability and employed traditional survey methods (quantitative survey) as well as controlled field experiments (qualitative research) to measure the attitudes of stakeholders (parents of students, teachers, school principals, members of school boards and other community members) toward governance in the education sector and their preferences for accountability and transparency.
This project aimed to monitor about 13 media outlets (TV stations and newspapers) that have a high level of audience according to the data obtained from TV audience measurement surveys as well as circulation. 7.
This research focused on the situation of the Roma in the Municipality of Tirana with the special focus on analyzing the degree to which local policy addresses inclusion and equal opportunities in different areas including education, seeks to include the Roma in policy-making processes and determining how social, economic and political aspiration of the Roma Community are addressed
In 2011, under the framework of the WYG /IPF (Infrastucture Projects Facility in the Western Balkans) and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in Albania ( MoE), IDRA implemented a project aimed at gathering data on the physical conditions of buildings/facilities of Ministry of Education pre-university schools / facilities (about 3349) all over Albania.
The study, both qualitative and quantitative in terms of the research instruments employed, aimed at evaluating current budgetary processes, the level of involvement of the community in local budgetary procedures as well as potential trends in the budget contents in the Municipality of Shkoder and Pogradec. Findings for this study were based on information gathered through a survey with local citizens, interviews with local administration officials, members of the local municipality councils, representatives of local civil society as well as local media representatives.
